On August 10th 2004 several riders from across the western United States began a ride into British Columbia and Alberta, Canada as well as northern Washington State.  At Creston, B.C. the group split into two and seven riders went into Montana, while four traveled the North Cascade Highway back to Bellevue.  The final tally was almost 1900 miles of some of the most beautiful country in the world.  It didn't disappoint anyone at all.  As a matter of fact you may find that the counter has been reset to reflect NEXT year's ride.  Some tweaking here and there...but still looking forward already to "Short Notice Gang does Canada - 2005"

The Route Map shows the intended path of the main group.  I have added an "actual route" map that show where we detoured from the original plan.  As mentioned above there were several riders who broke off at Creston BC to travel further east into Montana and Idaho.

The Lodging Page has a list of all of the lodging options I gleaned from various web sites.  I have added comments on each that my prove helpful to others who want to duplicate the trip.

The Rider Roster is where I am going to post the contact information for those of you who will allow me to do so.  At the very minimum, I would like to include your name on the list.  It is where you can get contact information for others on the ride.  Rider Information is under construction, but my goal for that page is to be the place where you send me your information for the Rider Roster.

Packing List - is a very comprehensive packing list.  Maybe a little too comprehensive.  My goal there is to make sure that we have at least one essential item (first aid kit) for each four or five rider group.

Pictures - This is perhaps where the most change in this site has occurred.  I am posting some of the photos that have come in to date, and for those who didn't go....as pretty as they are...it was about 250% better than the pictures will show you.

Packing Tips - Packing tips from the pros....

Kindering Center and Mercy Corps - Fund Raising - There are two riders in this group who have established ties with two very worthy charitable organizations.  Kindering Center and Mercy Corps are places were you can be sure that your money will change the lives of children.  I have been on the board at Kindering Center for over 8 years and served as President for six of those.  Dan O'Neill is with Mercy Corps.  We have decided to make our rides fund raising rides.  If you have such an interest, drop either of us a line and we can fill you in on what we are doing and how you can help.

If/when you have questions, feel free to e-mail me at wizard@isomedia.com

Jim Stenson
